Times are tough, so we try to find things that are free or not that expensive to do with Frances. Today we visited the California Science Center. We only stayed for an hour, but didn't feel bad about it since it was free and because most of the exhibits are not age appropriate for her. She did enjoy all of the toddler and discovery rooms though. Here are few pics from today. I've been trying to learn how to use my DSLR, so the pics aren't perfect. Still learning.

My little girl has been speaking more and more these days. Since she's in daycare, English is becoming her first language. I'm trying to speak in our own language at home and she seems to understand me. Speaking wise, she is more comfortable in English. Here are some words and phrases she says that I can think of at the moment:
Sansas-Frances
Heyyo-Hello
goomorning-good morning
nite nite-good night
jump
is boken-it's broken
Kobe-Kobe, one of our dogs
dog mama-dog's food
food
mama (food in korean)
mommy
daddy
I do it-I'll do it
My turn
bubewee-blueberry
nana-banana
sawbewee-strawberry
no bite-don't bite
ouch
shush-push
take it off
kick
pee-u
baby
soluh-stroller
ca ca-cracker
bahb (rice in korean)
geem (seaweed in korean0
watuh-water
muck-milk
eum ahk (music in korean)
dog
most of the animal sounds
punkin-pumpkin
hat
shoes
socks
banket-blanket
elmo
tv
peez-please
hat
yeyo-yellow
There's a ton more, but I can't think of them all.

This past weekend, we went to the Kidspace Museum Pumpkin Festival. It was scorching hot that day, but was still worth going to. Here are some pics from the day:

My little baby is 22 months today. That means she will be 2 in two months. Holy smokes! Where has the time gone. Here are some things about her at 22 months:
-eats A LOT! Sometimes I think she can eat more than me. How is that possible? For example, yesterday we went to a Japanese restaurant and she had a bowl of miso soup and almost a full bowl of rice. Plus, after that she had six avocado rolls.
-is starting to "pretend play" with dolls and stuffed animals. The other morning I wanted to sleep in, so I let Frances on the bed and put her with her blanket, Elmo doll and Anna doll (a bunny lovie). I was in and out of sleep, but I could hear her pretending to change their diapers, pretend to put them to sleep, etc. SO CUTE!!!
-has to have her blanket, her Elmo doll and Anna (rabbit lovie) all in her clib when it's bed time.
-is wearing some 12-18 month clothing and some 18-24 months. The 18-24 months are a little big on her depending on the company, but I think she's finally growing into them. Shoe size wise, she is generally wearing a size 5 with room to grow.
-is wearing size 4 diapers, Huggies brand.
-is attempting to jump. Half way there.
-is running, but not very fast. Please let it stay this way. I do not want to be chasing a little toddler around everywhere.
-Seems to understand both English and Korean, but generally speaks more in English. She will add in a few words in Korean.
-is communicating with single words like mommy, daddy, dog, go, outside, please, water. She is using two words at times, but I can only understand the last word she says.
-can say what animal is what and what their sound makes.
-is obsessed with Elmo's World. Her favorite part is when Elmo asks a baby about the topic they're discussing.
-is obsessed with babies. If she sees a baby on the street or anywhere, she'll say baby. If she's near a baby, she'll want to greet the baby and stare at him/her for hours.
-is becoming more interested in other children. She used to parallel play, but not really interact with other kids. Recently, I noticed she'll go up to kids and wave, smile at them, and start playing with them. We were over a friend's house on Labor Day and she was actually laughing, giggling and playing with their daughter. It was so cute!
-can be the sweetest, happiest little girl one minute, and then become a naughty toddler and have a full blown tantrum the next.
-understands time out and boy does she have quite a few time outs.
-still a thumb sucker.
-is sleeping from 7-7:30pm and wakes up at 6 am. Has one nap during the day that can last from 2-4 hours. At daycare, it obviously only lasts for 2 hours because that's the way the schedule goes.
-is still allergic to dairy and sugar. I think the sugar is something she'll grow out of, but it doesn't seem as though she'll grow out of dairy any time soon. She is drinking about 16 ounces of fortified rice milk daily.
This is all I can think of right now, but I'll ETA if I think of more. These kind of posts are never complete without a picture. Here you go!

I guess VOX is closing down. It's been a couple of years since I've blogged over there. Maybe transferring over will give me a kick in the pants to start blogging regularly again.
Goodbye VOX! It was great while it lasted...
Hello Typepad!
I think I've made a decision to go public on this blog. I've kept my old posts private, just to start fresh. If you've taken the time to find me or discover me, welcome to my blog.
